Student ADDY® Awards

What do advertising agencies look for when hiring graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, animators and writers? They look for people who have demonstrated an ability to produce great advertising and marketing materials.
This can make it very difficult for recent graduates to break into the business. If you’ve never worked for an agency, you probably don’t have a body of work that will help you get started in this highly competitive business. There is, however, one great way for aspiring writers and artists to impress creative directors in the Triad, the Southeast region and across the country.
The AAF Student ADDY Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed especially for college students. Work entered at the local level can move up to the district and national judging, just like the work entered by professionals across the country.
Eligibility Requirements:Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution.
Work may be developed specifically for this competition or submitted from previous projects or competitions between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010. Work developed for paying clients will not be accepted, with the exception of work created by clubs as fund raisers or work created for student publications.
Work must be created while the entrant is a student NOT employed in the advertising industry. Student interns are eligible.
Work created for NSAC competitions will be eligible for entry in the year following their presentation.
