Between the Lines: Innovation in Art, Architecture, and Design

Design, Art, and Technology Symposium 2008

This year's theme of "Between the Lines: Innovation in Art, Architecture, and Design" promises to bring together communities, industries, and individuals for 3 days of celebration and inspirational exchange. This interdisciplinary event will bring together academics, designers, creative professionals, artists, business entrepreneurs, economic developers, and technology researchers to explore the possibilities of new and innovative approaches to design and technology. Join us and see how creative forces are crossing lines to bring inspiration to the Triad and celebrate the talent and opportunities of the region.

March 27 - 29 will offer an impressive line up internationally acclaimed presenters who will arrive to connect with the talent of our region. The key presenters include internationally known architects, cutting-edge motion graphic designers, entrepreneurial creative designers, high-tech graffiti artists, and Greensboro's own Mackey McDonald, Chairman of VF corporation, speaking on the synergy of design and business. The symposium will be an opportunity for celebrating the creative accomplishments of our region and for inspirational exchange of innovative ideas, practice, and technology. The events will highlight new cutting edge design, art, and technology and include presentations, discussions, exhibitions, and technology workshops.

The DATS symposium began in Winston-Salem at the NCSA in 2004 through the support and vision of the Thomas S. Kenan Institute of the Arts. It has grown into a substantial and ongoing regional event with the symposium moving to High Point University in 2009 and opening the Center for Design Innovation in 2010. The symposium is a celebration of the Triad's reputation as a center for creativity, and design, and technology.
